Third Party Bank Access Instructions for Common Banks
Table of Contents

To serve you effectively, we need secure access to your bank account information—whether it's for bookkeeping, financial planning, or tax preparation. One of the most efficient and secure ways to do this is by setting up third-party access directly through your bank.
Every bank has its own method for allowing this type of access, and it can often be limited to view-only permissions for added peace of mind. In this guide, we’ll walk you through how to set up third-party access with several of the most common banks. Our goal is to ensure a smooth, secure process that allows us to support your financial needs without compromising your privacy or control.
- Sign into AMEX and Under the “Account Services” tab, click “Add or Remove Account Managers”.
- On the right of the AMEX card, there should be a button to “Add Account Manager"
- Add your planner as an account manager using their name and email address and AMEX will send them an email to finish setting it up.
**Please note that AMEX emails have a 24 hour expiration period, please let your planner know when you have prompted this email so they can be on the lookout for it. If sent over the weekend, it might time out before your planner is able to set it up and this will require you to re-prompt the email.
- Login and click the “Business Services” tab
- Select “Account Management”
- Select “Add New User”
- Create a username and password – you will have to email us both pieces of this information once it’s set up because Bank of America won’t notify us.
-

- “Allow this user access to this account”
- “View Statements”
- “View Check Images.”
- You do not want to check the box next to “Transfer Funds”.
- Then hit “Continue” and Select “Save”
- Email your planner the Username and PW created in order for us to finish the remaining steps.

- From our experience with our clients, we have learned that Fifth Third has different levels of online access/additional user access.
- We do not need the level of account access that requires a token to log in – just the level that is able to log in using a username, password, and text-authentication code. If our access will require a token, that means we have access/capabilities we do not need.
